DAWSON CREEK – The Dawson Creek Junior Hockey Association, Peace – Liard Regional Arts Council, and Bear Mountain Nordic Ski Association are receiving financial support thanks to Community Gaming Grants announced Peace River South MLA Mike Bernier.
“The Dawson Creek Junior Canucks are extremely grateful to receive this grant”, said Rob Huttema, President of the Dawson Creek Junior Canucks. “These funds will go towards operating expenses and help keep our club viable so that local players can play at a Junior level and remain in their home community.”
“Organizations like this are the backbone of our community” said Bernier. “It is wonderful to see them get this kind of support.”
- Dawson Creek Junior Hockey Association $15,000
- Peace – Liard Regional Arts Council $3,750
- Bear Mountain Nordic Ski Association $3,500
These grants have been awarded under the Sports and Arts and Culture category of the Community Gaming Grant Program, which allows non-profit organizations to apply for provincial gaming revenues from the Ministry of Community, Sport and Cultural Development. Gaming Grants are also awarded in the categories of Public Safety, Environment and Human and Social Services.
