DAWSON CREEK – Intersection improvements have begun at Highway 97 and the Dangerous Goods Route at Dawson Creek thanks to a $1.75 million investment from the B.C. government.
Improvements include installing traffic signals at the intersection.
By providing dedicated turning opportunities for vehicles turning off and onto Highway 97, this project will increase the capacity, mobility and reliability of the corridor, improving the movement of goods and services to the community.
“Peace River is the heartland of natural resource development in B.C. and upgrades to busy routes like Highway 97 will help increase safety and keep our economy moving,” Peace River South MLA Mike Bernier said.
This project is part of B.C. on the Move, the B.C. government’s 10-year transportation plan to improve the province’s transportation network.
Work is expected to finish in October.
